Book Synopsis The Other Kingdom by : David Rousset

Book excerpt: David Rousset, formerly a correspondent for Time and Fortune, founded and edited an underground newspaper during the German occupation of Paris. This bulletin gave news from wireless stations all over the world and was published daily in the heart of Paris, and the Gestapo never discovered it. Rousset was arrested for the organization of anti-Hitler groups within the German Army. He was held prisoner in four different Nazi concentration camps. This book is a stark study not only of the physical cruelties of the Nazis, but also of the subtle psychological cruelties. He was released in May 1945 and returned home ill with typhus. This book was written during his recovery.
